  4. In March of 2006 the hard disk on my 12″ Mac Powerbook G4 crashed. I am no “noob” when it comes to cracking open the case of anything from a PC to a Sun Microsystems Enterprise type server. But a laptop is a different matter altogether. Especially with the way Apple designs their laptop cases. It is a huge pain to crack them open for repairs. And laptops have these I/O ribbon cables that are paper thin and super easy to tear of you do not know what you are doing. If repairing the insides of a laptop is something you have NO experience with, trust me, you better let someone who does do it for you!

    Everyone I talked to (including Apple) wanted hundreds of dollars and to send it away for 3-5 weeks for repairs. I did some digging around on the Internet and found GRAPiNEX. They replaced the hard disk for me and had it back in my hands 2 DAYS LATER!!! And at half the cost of the cheapest quote from one of the others that wanted to send it off for 5 weeks!!! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!!!
